Saturday was another fine morning in Loch Goil. We motored out in a dead calm and proceeded back down Loch Long escorted by the MOD Police and porpoises! Dropped the anchor in Fintry Bay for coffee to see if wind would pick up. Local church bells rang out at 11.00 for VE Day commemorations. At head of loch, sails up. Had to put engine back on for a while to make way until wind shifted in our favour and then we had a great sail back to Largs. Kip marina racing going on; Drum and Clyde Challenger out to observe.
Sunday morning saw the return of the cold, wet and very, very windy stuff so a tactical retreat has been made to home to do the washing and other chores. At least we've tried all key things out on the shakedown so far, including Pip. Still to try the unused outboard that we purchased in September 2012 though! Perhaps next week...
