04 November 2010 | Villasimius
Tuesday 26th - Thursday 27th October

Woke up to a cacophony of sheep bells. Cycled into Vilaputzu, three miles across some canals. Cheap wholesale supermarket. Unsuccessful hunt for wifi or a dongle shop. Forecasting a blow coming John suggested we move to a more comfortable berth. Wilson and Friday both fell in (first time in four months) much to the consternation of a French man whose wife was berating him for locking Wilson in their boat, but he was actually under the pontoon making a hell of a racket.

Wednesday had a long walk along a surf bashed desolate beach. Sand was wonderfully warm underfoot. I say deserted but there was one chap without his strides or his undercrackers!!? (Martyn was hot but took his top off after we were well past) We felt inspired to do some yoga on the sand (I know poofy but beats church halls) Thursday set off sailing in a roly sea and then motor sailing and then sailing down to the foot of Sardinia skirting pretty islands (one apparently with a statue of "Maria of the sea bed" at 10m but we couldn't see her) Saw a lonesome dolphin. Turned the corner into Villasimius. A large and overpriced marina set in a pretty resort area with a lake behind and a long sandy beach. But with no lights and costing Fifty Euros!
