We Couldn't Resist

Marta Portoles (edited by Alec and Roan)
This is our third year cruising in Por Dos. When we left Boston in 2012, we had thought on sailing to the Mediterranean for a couple of summers, after the U.S. East Coast and Bahamas, coming back to the Caribbean and back to Boston in time for Alec and Roan to start high school. Now, after hearing so much about the South Pacific cruising grounds, we decided to extend our sailing adventure until the end of 2015 and go into the South Pacific. We could not resist the lure of Polynesia and Melanesia!

The schedule for 2015 includes Galapagos in April, crossing to Marquesas in May, French Polynesia in June and July, Cooks Islands, Niue, Tonga and Fiji in August and September, Vanuatu in October and New Caledonia in November. We planned to be in Brisbane mid or end of November (to avoid cyclone season) and back in Boston for Christmas (and a slightly late start of high-school in December instead of September). Fingers crossed for a milder Boston winter ☺
