HAPPY EASTER

Stephen & Christi from Atlanta are here visiting for the week. They own a Catalina 30 on Lake Lanier.
Yesterday was warm with light winds. A cold front went through early this morning so it is quite windy and cool today. Not the weather for a tropical visit, but wonderful for those living in boats. Tonight will be 60 degrees so we will dig out the light blankets. It will probably be the last cool weather until fall.
We are volunteering at the museum this afternoon until 1500. Because of the cool weather it has been busy. Tonight is dinner & a movie at the Hope Town Harbour Lodge, with a special treat when they show a film of Gary, the bartender, who does films of the local sea creatures. Afterwards they will show the movie (Meet the Fackers).
Next Wednesday the 15th, our mooring expires so we will be visiting the other islands for several weeks before heading home. Our internet access will be very limited since we plan to visit uninhabited islands. Hope Town has been fun, but we are ready to continue our adventure. Our underwater area has grown thick with marine growth since we have been sitting in one spot for so long. We will clean the bottom when snorkeling as it really slows the boat.
Last night we had Wahoo and grouper caught by Rudy, the marina operator. The grouper was voted the best taste by all, but the Wahoo was about 100 pounds before cleaning. Lobster/crawfish is out of season, but we hope to find some caught before the end of the season so Stephen & Christi can sample them.
Today is Thursday the 9th and we are volunteering at the museum for the last time before we leave beautiful Hope Town. Christi and Stephen are flying back to Atlanta tomorrow morning. I think they have enjoyed their visit. It is always nice to have visitors from home. We were unable to take them to any of the other islands because of the strong winds we had here on Tuesday, The sea of Abaco was really churned up and it was quite uncomfortable to move around in that kind of weather. But they have had lots of beach time right here. There is plenty to see and do.
Many of the boaters from the US and Canada have already left for their trip home. There was a mass exodus from the mooring field here this morning. But there will be several other boats arriving this afternoon. The boaters who spent the winter in the Exumas are now coming through here on their way back to the States. We will be joining the parade of boats next week.
Tomorrow is Good Friday. Many of the business close down for a four day weekend here in the Bahamas. It is a law to be closed on Good Friday, all except for the resort areas and marinas. However here in Hope Town most of the businesses will only be closed tomorrow and then open the remaining days of the Easter weekend.
Hope you all have a blessed Easter. We will be attending the sunrise service here on the beach. It should be a spectacular view of the sun rising over the ocean on Easter morning. I plan to take my camera to the service. I really enjoyed singing with the St. James Church choir, but I have retired from there for now until I return again.
