When we arrived in Fiji, we were pleasantly surprised to see the acres and acres of sugarcane fields - reminded us of the green rolling hills of our home port, Durban. Sugar Cane has been the backbone of Fiji's economy. (Continued...)

We are more than 500 girls in the school! Yes, I am now wearing my first ever uniform. At first I hated the uniform, but now I like it. (Continued...)

And so we have had a really exciting and different week! It started on Monday when we took the ferry to the town of Lautoka on the other big island of Fiji, Viti Levu where we were going to visit friends in Nadi and afterwards going to Suva, the capital of Fiji. (Continued...)

As we approached Bora Bora, or Pora Pora as the Tahitians call it, it looked so familiar, because we have seen the skyline endless times in advertisements, this island being marketed as the "Pearl of the Pacific". So, we know it is a very touristy island and there are a lot of charter boats around and that usually is not so nice for yachties and therefore did not expect a lot of this place, but we were pleasantly surprised and actually enjoyed Bora Bora more than what we expected! (Continued...)
