Aloha All,
Working through our instrument/autopilot issue. The fact that it's intermittent makes it more difficult to ascertain the actual cause. The process of elimination begins.
Checked and rechecked all system connections for power and data sharing. Inspecting and cleaning all 12 DC battery cable connections. Updating the software for all devices in the navigation system.
Today I met a guy, who knows a guy, who thinks there is such a guy, that could put me in touch with a guy who might know enough about marine electronics to help us determine and repair the problem. Don't hold your breath on that one.
Also called the tech support staff at the manufacturer's headquarters. Futile effort at best. Hold your breath on this one and surely you'll pass out from lack of oxygen or at the amount on your next phone bill. Which ever comes first.
In the meantime we continue to do basic boat keeping maintenance and cleaning. At least we are not lounging around bored to tears at this point.
Everyone take care and stay well. All our love
