ARRR GRRRR Capt'n B
The life of a captain in the carribean is a demanding one. Gotta feed the family, make sure the hook will hold thru the nite, and most of all ration the mixer. It's been a while sinced I've logged on and wow here it is a little over a month down here and I'm finding a few spare moments. It's been a wonderful experience so far and we've seen some beautiful places along the way. The usual things have been keeping us busy when you upgrade your boat only to find out that you've upgraded your problems. Flexable h2o tanks have been holding the water but not giving it up, the outboard had a short that was shocking me as well as the bill that came along with getting it fixed, and the luxuries of refridgeration came with the loudest problem of all- the unit will wake the dead (but the manufacture is being good and sending a replacement unit). So a lot of our time so far has been getting the boat and some of the new systems operating properly, but I won't lie, we endulge ourselves with every sunset, go diving in the beautiful carribean waters whenever the wind allows, fish on every sail with improving results, and walk the islands learning about their unique history and culture. So yeah there has been business to take care of and on island time it all takes a lot longer, but the cheap rum and lobster dinner's (provided by capt'n B-ware) help sooth all that stuff. So as we sail from island to island we are begining to learn the unavoidable truth, that no matter what you'll be sailing into the wind more than you would like. So we choose our days and take our time enjoying each new spot - it's fun to be anchored with 30-40 other sail and mega yachtsand to go dive and collect a half dozen lobster, knowing that no one else will go that extra effort to find them where only the slightly crazy will endure. Well we are heading west to Culebra soon, then beating it back east to the BVI's and then down the chain where hopefully it will be a beam reach for the most part. I'm dying for surf, especially when the reports are telling you there is surf just on the other side of this huge mountain ridge, too far to walk and too expensive to taxi, but soon it will all come together. Well It's good to give a shout-out to all my peeps, yo word-up. And keep listening cause this Capt'n' s got more rum induced lie's to spread. And just remember, you gotta kill'em to grill'em-
Fair winds and cold drinks! Cheers!
Capt'n B-rad!
