Seapath Yacht Club

12/20/2007, Wrightsville Beach, NC

So, We've been berthed at Seapath Yacht Club in Wrightsville Beach since November. It's a fabulous marina. We can walk or ride bikes to the beach. There is a great park across the street with a 5 mile loop to walk or run, a baseball field, soccer field, baseball diamond, basketball court, tennis courts, playground and even a museum on local history. The landscaping is pretty too, and the town recycling center is there too. Seapath has nice laundry facilities, clean showers, dock boxes at each slip, bike storage, cable and WiFi, and a ship's store that sells beer, ice and other important stuff like that. They also have a nice book trade and sunset viewing deck, it's pretty awesome. The staff here is very nice too. A great place, yet we are actually considering sailing on down to the Keys. Why? Money, warmth, closer to the tropical life we've come to love. The jobs here in coastal NC have become pretty scarce for a couple of seasonal laborers like us. We have friends who have lived and worked in the keys for years and they tell us we could make good money there. The diving and fishing should be good too. However, we just pulled our engine for some work so, we will not be going anywhere until we put it back into the boat. Our Yanmar 3GM30 needs a lot of work, but I think we're just going to get it running well enough to get us down to lower latitudes and tackle the REAL rebuild at a later date. We've been getting messages from all of our friends down island and it's just killing us, but we need the dough to make it happen and this year hasn't been lucrative so far, that's okay, I feel a change is on the wind...
I'm posting some photos here of some of the sights around Seapath.

Hey Y'all!
By Jeannette

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Holiday! Brian and I did, even though we were apart. He spent Thanksgiving with his family here in North Carolina and I went down to Louisiana to see my family. We had a really good time. I can't believe its practically December, we should be moving South by now! We had a plan to stay put and work for one year to save a little start up money for the charter business. But I'm thinking we could work in the Keys or even the USVI, hey, at least it's warm! I'm real tropic bird. Anything below 60 degrees really shivers my feathers. Anyway, it's a beautiful day in Wrightsville and in the sunshine it's 64 degrees, so it's all good.
Oh, and the photo is of my sisters at the LSU game!
