Heading out today

27 June 2010 | Maple Bay (still) but headed up to Chemanis
Ray here - lgt rain
Time for us to head on down the old water way trail to the next destination...which we chose as Chemanis on Vancouver Island...it's kind of our turn-around point before we head back to Bedwell then Friday Harbor and Lopez island for the forth. We'll probably anchor out in the park on the north side of Chemanis and dink ashore or we may go on up to Ladysmith. We're going to Chemanis because they have food there...I had food once...what and experience! The bus ride to Duncan seemed okay but we need to get out and sail...and sail...and sail...so we're going to motor up to Chemanis...I know there's sense there somewhere.

Woke up this morning and turned on generator to charge up the batteries, and make water with the watermaker. All going right now...outside the boat not more than 20 feet away you can barely hear the burble of the raw water pump on the generator...otherwise it's unhearable (sure that's a word Ray). Inside the boat is just a slight drone iike being inside a propeller airplane on take-off...forever! What? huh? Did you say something?...Can you hear me now? I'm thinking I need to type louder.

So the villagers here in Maple Bay we're out last night with their torches...I suspect looking for us as we've been here for almost two weeks now...so easy to get "cruiser lazy" and not leave town...big problem for all cruisers I guess.

Not sure about email in Chemanis so we may be off-line for a while...don't know.
