Ray here
Supposed to be a 5-7 hour run down from Maple Bay to Bedwell...we did it in 3 1/2 (of course we had outgoing tide pushing us all the way). We did get ground speeds over 8 knotts! Sorrry Willow...no wind to speak of so it was a motor boat ride. Just an FYI as far as sailing...my opinion...Pure Joy sails better than Mariah...not simplier but certainly faster and she doesn't heal over as much We only had two sails up and pushed close to 7 knotts at times. We did get all four out for a while but we ran out of space and time...she handled beautifully...(well except for the deck crew). Our real sail-a-athon begins when we get to Esquimalt (just after Victoria and before P.A.). We need real ocean stuff not this very beautiful but very flat inland stuff. We're not bugged about it as we figure we'll end up motoring most of the way down the coast...at least that's what most people tell us going in July.

So, currently, we're at Bedwell...tomorrow we're headed to Roche Harbor to get mail and eat more food..about 6 miles fr omhere. Okay so we're here resting from our vacation....way stressed having to decide between the hot tube, and pool...or Breve'....I've opted for all three! Weather's holding up pretty good although it's forcasted to rain over the 3rd and 4th.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 9th-10-th-and 11th,,,meantime we're suffering along.

Ray out...for now
