Bom Dia,

We went off to see the Christ the Redeemer statue this morning here in Rio. The tram traveled up through the most amazing rain forest-the largest urban rain forest in the world. Impatiens were growing wild and there were more varieties of trees than I could have imagined. Very pretty. The statue was very impressive and we lucked out because we were there during one of the brief breaks in the clouds so we were able to get some photos

Our day was good but tiring since there was a lot walking on hilly uneven pavement. We had a late start because Brazilian officials took forever to clear us through immigration and then the traffic was horrific. The churches we saw were amazing and the locals were colorful. Sadly the street vendors were rather pushy which made walking and looking difficult. An experience nonetheless. We barely made it back to the ship in time to get something to eat since lunch was not on the tours agenda. Now it is almost time for dinner and I could use a nap.
