Sunday 29th June
It is 6.40 am Finnish time and I am soon going off watch. We are making steady progress towards Gotska Sandon which we should make by lunchtime today. The night has been grey but good. Wind was at maximum some 22 knots from the South East. Now it has dropped to approximately 15 knots. We started off due South, as the wind was going to veer more Southerly during the night. That seems to have been a good call as we are holding up towards the island without having to go too straight towards the wind. Now we are going straight towards it.
Everybody is still asleep. I cuddle up by the navigation table and typing away on the computer, but make regular visits to the cockpit for both a look out and drinking coffee. Imelda has set me some home work to improve my spiritual practices which I shall do later today, for now just staring into a black radar screen. Nothing out there nearby right now, just a very grey morning.
