Nothing Happened Today

22 August 2014 | Lyngor
Elliott and Imelda SSE0
Friday 22nd of August 2014

Seriously, nothing happened today.

Elliott Almqvist

P.S. Nothing happened today.

P.P.S. There was a marching band and a rainbow.

CREW VERGING ON MUTINY, SKIPPER ESCAPES FOR A BEER ASHORE!!

Our of the mouths of babes!!!!!!!!! IAB

I would have to agree with my co-author Elliott that VERY LITTLE happened today. Quinn gamed until deep into the night and used up all mobile internet we had bought only yesterday. It took all morning to motor to various places in search of a top-up. Eventually Ulric and Quinn managed it, I believe... don't ask me about the administrative details...it was NOT EASY...

It is 7.45 pm. The kitchen team for tonight consists of Ulric & Quinn. Blog team is Elliott and Imelda. Jaguar Management Team is Brendan...

In Risoer we were 'met by' a marching band. They marched up to a statue and played a dirge, in torrential rain. Maybe they were honouring a war hero??

Right now we are for anchor in Lyngoer. Ulric waxes lyrical about how pretty the place is... a Norwegian Venice.... The rest of us barely look out of a porthole.

In truth Cabin Fever has come calling again. Unless we see some seals, a dolmen or some rock art very soon I will be homesick by tomorrow. Some of us have had two showers since we started our journey in Gothenburg (blogs do NOT have a smell function, don't worry).

There was a rainbow over the open sea behind us earlier. Dad pointed this out to the boys. "Yeah....." He also reminded them of the rainy welcome by the military band: "Yeah... whatever...."

Personally I try to keep positive. Whenever I pump the toilet I think: I am not sitting in torrential rain on a compost toilet in Wales.... Whenever it rains for hours on end, I think: this boat, unlike most boats, has NO LEAKS!!! In my cabin I sleep under a REAL DUVET, not in sleeping bag saturated with rain water.....

There is a lot to be grateful for....

NOTHING HAPPENED TODAY, BUT THERE WAS A MARCHING BAND AND A\RAINBOW.... AND SOON THERE WILL BE COD FOR DINNER....

Imelda Almqvist
