So today Queenie morphed into Drama Queen Mode.
Dad chose a route that involved passing under a bridge and some power lines and until the last moment we were kept in suspense: would our mast really clear the obstacles or would we electrocute ourselves??
I try hard to "stay of all this" and hide in my cabin. But that brings Brendan flying: "Mum! Mum! Super quick: how much is 84 feet?!! We will all have a terrible accident if you get it wrong!!"
84 feet is about 28 meters (give or take some margin) and that seemed to be a welcome answer: our mast is 23 meters high. WE ALL EXHALE.
But then Dad complicates matters again by saying: "But how many meters difference does High Tide make?"
"Murder She Wrote"!! £$%^&***%$$ GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Can certain people bring a calculator and conversion tables if they are going to be sailing in these treacherous waters on the London Doorstep?!!!
So we DID clear the bridge and we did NOT electrocute ourselves but then the police came alongside asking some probing questions.
Anyway. We are for anchor now. Even Queenie has had enough of being a Drama Queen and Dad may need some decompression time this afternoon...
I will be hiding in my cabin some more, for sure. And I just saw a seal - it had caught a fish and some seagulls were mobbing her to steal the fish. But I was the only one to see this incident.
Was it real or was it a dream? I am a Pisces. Any scenario is possible!!
