Wot! No curry?
Another good night at sea; in a break with tradition we had corned beef hash for dinner instead of our usual Friday curry. Mainly because we need to use up the stores that still fill our lockers. ..and partly because we had curry on Thursday.
We edged into the Gulf Stream around midnight and began to cross it at an oblique angle. Our speed gradually increased despite the wind dropping to a mere 9-10 knots. There was bright moonlit and we could see it reflecting on the sea around; we felt as tho' we were hardly moving through the water but our boat speed was 6-8 knots! An odd experience!
We slowly crossed to the west side of the stream and will soon be free from its effects, that's a shame because the wind is still light and we may have to motor later.
101 miles to go to the entrance to the St John's River and Jacksonville. One more night at sea and we'll be there!
