1000 miles to go!

140 miles run in the last 24 hours. Another squally night during which we got a wave over the back of the boat and down the companionway. No damage apart from a wet galley and carpet. We'll keep the hatch in from now on, unless its flat calm - and there doesn't appear to be much chance of that!
The flying fish that land on deck are getting bigger, we may be tempted to pop them in a pan soon! Corned beef hash and beans for dinner tonight, Kit was chef! ..and I made bread today somehow! Not bad but a little doughy on the bottom, obviously the oven!
At midday we had 1000 miles to go to the approach to the Suriname River, our GPS and chartplotter display can now count down distance to go instead of showing 999!
