30 hours into the first leg of this passage to the Turks and Caicos, some 430 nautical miles. The first 24 hours gave us wind from the SSE,on our stern so it was quite rolly but now we've turned more to the west and are sailing more comfortably. We signed up with Chris Parker - weather forecaster and router for yachts with an SSB call-in. He said we'd get more steady winds if we first headed N then NW and he's been spot on so far - no need for the engine yet!
A big bowl of chilli set us up for the night which was a good one with moonlight almost all night as the moon will soon be full. Stars too - I finally identified the constellation of Scorpio, my star sign, at 0100 this morning.
