Just a thought.

An old friend of mine sent me an email yesterday. The email said "I can't believe you're actually pulling this off".

It got me thinking a bit. What we "pulled off" was letting the mooring lines go in Tacoma last August. That first step and everything that led up to it was the difficult part. Many dreams of going cruising never make it to casting off.

Once we got going, there was no more "pulling off"; the ocean does not let you do that. From there on you use your common sense and time. Sometimes cruising is hard work, sometimes it is boring, but most of the time it is down right pleasant.

This little insignificant thought struck me as I realized that we have just sailed Radiance from Tacoma to Tahiti. With common sense, time, and a little bit of money, most anybody can do that. We are proof...we did it.
