Yesterdays afternoon hunt was sucessful and it was snapper for dinner. Today after a little exploring ashore we will try another reef and see if lobster will be on the menu tonight. In the meantime we are going looking for the cruisers monument where boats passing thru leave a stone or piece of floatsome with their boat name painted on it to attest to their having passed this way. As it turns out it was not hard to find. There was a tunnel cut into the mangroves along the shore that allowed us to run our dinghys in side to shore. From there you just follow the foot path to your goal. There in the sunshine on the windward side stands a goodly amount of rocks and floatsom covered with the names of boats and their crews who have taken this route westward. We recognized the names of many we had met and knew from other stops along the way to this point in time and space. We too found a suitable rock and added our contribution to this fun monument. (See Picture below). After lunch Nick from Caribbean Soul and I donned our great white hunter garb and headed out to see about aquiring that lobster dinner. Nick is very good in the water and with a hand spear and I'm not a total slouch myself so our hopes were high that a lobster dinner would be forthcoming. And so it was. A couple of hours of diligent hunting along the reef produced 8 lobster. Since there were 8 of us on 4 boats that seemed an appropriate amount and we called it a day on lobster. Next a few snapper for variety and we could head in to where a cold beer was waiting to cut the salt water taste out of our mouths.
