Well,
Here we are again. I think it's about time to blow this pop stand. This is when we find out that Linda has a cyst the size of a grapefruit on her left ovary and we aren't going anywhere until it's dealt with. The positive side is that the medical care here in Venezuela is first rate if you can afford the private clinics. Yes, we can! So, after many consultations and tests we find the day of truth has arrived. The doctor is the same one who has done this for one of our friends on another boat. He speaks good english and was trained in the US. The biggest difference is the reasonable price. Here, the whole procedure will cost less than my deductible share in the US. Imagine that. She will hgave a private room at the clinic where the procedure will e done and I will be allowed to sleep on the couch at the foot of her bed after she comes out of surgery. Well, the surgery was a total success and she is doing well. She will be able to go home tomorrow to the boat. There will be a 6 week recovery period and then released to get on with our lives and our travels. Well, the 6 weeks is up, Linda is doing great and we're out of here. Time to blow this pop stand. In company with our good friends on Dragonfly we have departed PLC for Isla Tortuga and points west. After nearly 17 months in Venezuela and two hurricane seasons we will now put this episode behind us. See you in the next entry.

These are stories of the travels of Rainbowrider and her intrepid crew We have been out for almost 4 years now and will remain out here until it's no longer fun. We have found a community of boaters and friends who will always come to the rescue if needed. Otherwise they will just be there to help with whatever you may need help with. When help is not needed they will leave you in peace with the sure and certain knowledge that assistance is only a radio call away
