Meeting up with 'Easter Rose'
17 September 2012 | Double Bay East
Susie
Once again we had to seek refuge from strong winds for the next 3-4 days so we moved further south to Double Bay East which is one of the large secluded bays on the mainland north of Airlie Beach. Here we were joined by Soraya and John on Easter Rose who didn't leave Brisbane until July and are still on their way north. We celebrated Jim's birthday together with a BBQ on the beach (there aren't many beaches where you can light a fire because they are all National Parks, but this one's fine) and had a glorious time telling yarns and drinking as only yachties can. Soraya and I then tried to wear off some carbs with a kayak when the wind died down but there was more drifting and talking than serious paddling.
