Snorkelling at Blue Pearl Bay

The following day dawned bright and clear with next to no winds. We motored north to Hayman Island which has one of the best snorkelling sites in the area at Blue Pearl Bay. There are a few moorings here and fortunately the turnover rate is pretty high (people snorkel and then move on) so we were able to pick up one after only a short wait. I donned my wet suit (water's still too cold for this old girl) and headed out for a glorious hour of observing fish and coral in excellent conditions.
I've discovered a new approach to snorkelling; I suit up and then paddle over to the coral on the ski and drag it with me as I snorkel. There's a few advantages in this; I can move from one spot to another very quickly; it warns other boats in the area there's a diver below; and I can make a rapid exit if (heaven forbid) a shark should appear.
