Charleston, SC
12 November 2016 | St. James Marina
We spent two nights in Georgetown, SC - a little town with a lot of history. Took a tour of the town and a tour of the rice museum. Learned a lot about the revolutionary & civil wars from the perspective of this area. Also a lot about slavery - not our finest moment. We headed out on Thursday morning and spent the night in a quiet little anchorage north of Charleston, SC. Friday morning we drove through Charleston Harbor Lots of container and cruise boat traffic to thread through - passed Fort Sumpter, still has a big American flag. We hope to stop in Charleston for our trip home. Friday afternoon we pulled into St. James Marina, just to the south of Charleston. A large marina just off the beaten path. No nearby restaurants - the one at the marina is closed, Hurricane Matthew took out the road leading to it.
Tonight we will stay in another anchorage before we head to Beaufort for 2-3 days.
