Georgetown, SC

We left St. John's and moved to Charleston, SC. Took the tour and had some wonderful bar-b-que. Charleston seems to be a pretty big city with a small town flair.
After leaving Charleston we traveled to just before McClellanville. There is some serious shoaling in the McClellanville area and we wanted to hit it at high tide. We spent the night at anchor in Awendaw Creek - quiet and peaceful once the wind settled down. There is a strong current here and it and the wind were at odds, bouncing us around. Around midnight the wind died down and the current took hold. Note; don't set out 90' of rode and put the anchor alarm in the aft cabin with the alarm set at 100' and expect to sleep through the night.
We left Awendaw Creek and headed for Georgetown, SC. We stopped here on our way down - and looked forward to this place again. We had planned on one night, but the weather was unsettled - threatening thunderstorms through Friday morning. we now plan to leave on Saturday, April 1. No fooling!
