Enjoying the holidays

A few of us decided to have lunch on the beach, Wednesday to celebrate Boxing Day and enjoy the cool shade, cool breeze and good company for one more day. Today, we woke up and decided that it was time to head back to the BVI’s, but while we were enjoying the morning we hear a strange huffing sound and look up to see a solitary dolphin, 20-30 feet from the boat enjoying breakfast. He would surface and take a breath…which was the huffing sound we heard, then shallow dive and resurface. He hung around for about 10 minutes and then slipped away. This was the first dolphin we saw this year and the only one we have ever seen alone – very cool. Then we took off for West End Tortola, and checked back into the BVI’s. After lunch and internet at the Pusser’s here, where we whiled away a good part of the afternoon, we then topped off some stores at the market and are back enjoying the activity in and around the marina and wharf. And to round out the day, 2 dolphins came in to feed at dusk…how’s that for a circle?
