Kalibangan River

01 August 2013
We were keen to see if we could get just a little way up the Kalibangan river and see if we could experience the “real” jungle of Borneo. Getting in was a lot easier than we thought and we anchored in Dewhurst Bay in the company of a couple of other boats. We went for an explore in the dinghy saw hawks, monkeys and a glimpse of a male orangutan through the trees.
As the tide turned in the river all the debris would come rushing towards us. We were not lucky enough to miss everything and ended up with a huge tree trunk straddling the rudders
