Arrived last night in the dark at about 10 pm. Tiny anchorage against a 100+ ft. cliff. Rocks 100 ft from the boat while in 35 ft. of water. Dropped anchor in about 40 ft. 180 ft. of chain out! Sure glad I have a windlass.
Will write more and send some pictures soon.

The trip so far was way too easy. Moderate winds and seas. Sailing for 9 days with occasional rolling. Caught a Mahi big enough for 4 meals. Now comes the first bad weather.
Weather guru says it will be 20-25 knots of sustained wind and gusts t0 35 knots. Squalls could bring the winds up to 50 knots.
Currently at 8 am only 20 knots SW or so with sunny skied makes it difficult to imagine it could get so bad. Restless is ready. We may hove to in the worst of it which may be at nightfall. I am considering heaving to for the night just to be safe and comfortable. If all goes a s planned. it will be over by tomorrow morning and we will make Isla de Flores in the Azores in another two or three days.
Will report again during the storm if possible. Send your prayers.
Well the propagation for the short wave radio was so bad i could not get the message transmitted. So here i am again at 5 pm and its all over. The wind went up to only 30 knots at times, averaged about 25 knots. It was rainy and sloppy from 11 am to 2:30 pm. It was a bit scary as the sky was quite dark. Now at 5:30 the sun is shining and we are sailing nicely. The wind is still 20 knots gusting to 28 or so now from the West. but it is behind us and pushing us along nicely. Hella is not impressed as she is not used to sailing in high winds but Restless is quite god at it and we are reasonably comfortable. The whole house is bouncing around a bit as we hurl along at 7 knots. Two more days and we should be in the Azores. Will write more then.

Life is good! King Kong on Movie Night

Wind is 12-16 from WSW. Skies are a mix of low dark wisps and scattered cumulus. about 30% cloud cover. Making about 6.5 knots at 090M. Water temp is 77 deg F. Air temp is 79 at night and 84 during the day. Sails are slapping a lot in the roll. Following seas range from 3 to 7 ft. We lost the Gulf stream for several hours yesterday but now appear to have it back. Water temp dropped to 74 and boat speed was only 5 knots.
Life is good other wise . I watched king kong during my watch. it was terrific. The original jurasic park. 9.7 in Tablet with my new Jebra blue tooth stereo headset. Technology is fun.
AIS sees only 1 or two ships a day. None physically seen. Range seems to be 60 to 80 miles with the new system.
Fished all day yesterday and only caught saragossa weed. Not many flying fish here. A few birds only. No whales or dolphins yet. Weather is fine with no rain yet.
I guess I shouldn't say how easy this is so far but I am surprised just the same.
2nd day out

First day was hectic getting settled etc. Winds were favorable and the sailing was easy. The first 24 hours are always tough fr me. Now settled into a routine. Some electronics issues but no real problems.
Today wind shifted to W and is now behind us at about 12 knots. Rolly motion is not comfortable but bearable. Last night was warm with the gulf stream waters under us at 78 degrees. Fished yesterday and today with no luck but its early yet.
Chris Parker hinted at a potential problem with squalls early next week. Today winds are supposed to build to 20 knots. Now sailing with a tiny main and poled out jib.
