Ketchikan

Ron/sunny and warm
This is our last day in Ketchikan. We went out for sushi last night for dinner. We changed the oil and fuel filter in the boat. Fuel filter was dirty. We decided to see if Moorage was available at a port facility north near the airport (Bar Harbor Marina). There was a slip with power available so we got underway to explore the other part of Ketchikan. We like it! There is an incredible Safeway well within walking distance, as well as showers and head facilities! Thomas Basin where we spent the last two night didn't have showers or head available to marina guest. We were also well away from all the tourists on the four cruise ships that were in port. We had a nice 8 boy currie for dinner on board. It's a great repeatable recipe. For Jennifer and Chad: it was the same recipe I made at your house last April!
We expect a change in the weather tomorrow. Overcast and rain, something we have experienced only once on this trip so far.
We plan to leave in the morning for Meyers Chuck, about 35 north. It's a small community of 10 or so families at the entrance of Ernest Sound. When we stopped by there three years ago, the Post Mistress made incredible sticky buns for Sunday morning. We hope that tradition continues!
We probably won't be in cell phone range until we reach Wrangell on Monday or Tuesday.
It was good to chat with our families while we were here. Till next time.
