PHILIPPINES BOUND
VOYAGE TO PHILIPPINES FROM BALTIMORE MARYLAND
BACK IN THE USA
GARY
07/05/2011, MARATHON FLORIDA

Tess and I arrived here after a 4 day voyge from Isla Majures Mexico and the reason for returning to the usa is that a guy put money dn on the purchase of the boat and tess wanted me to sale boat and buy another in the Philippines!
So we get here and the guy shows up and says after viewing the boat tht they like the boat and return on monday with the cash to buy the boat!HE NEVER SHOWS UP ON MONDAY WITH THE MONEY"
We shipped all our positions to the philippines since we were so sure this guy was going to buy the boat;all my toools ; clothes; everything!
So i bought a honda to get me around and i drove tess to chicago to stay with relatives while I sort all this out. so tess is waiting for her citisenship interview(takes 3-6 months)
Soif the boat is not sold by the 24th of july Iam sailing to the Bahamas for the summer and then in November or December I will again start my voyage to the philippines via the windward passage across the Carib. dn to Panama to transit by Feb of nx year
I hate the thought of having to not trust anyone anymore. ! that thought really bothers me!
So stay tune and wait for the saga to continue

If you are leaving Florida would you be interested in sailing and selling in New Orleans?

Do you have any additonal photos of the boat?
Do you have the paperwork on the new motor and electronics?
Cozumel and Isla Mujerez Mexico
05/30/2011, 21 12.0'N:86 43.00'W

We are now at Isla Mujerez Mexico after a one night at Cozumel
The sail from Cozumel was really exciting for the wind was right on the beam and we were having 10knts of wind ;then it goes up to 15 and now we are sailing at 7.2 knts with jib and main out. then the wind goes to 18 then to 20 knts and now are speed is an incredible 8.8 knots1 couldnt believe rosie could sail so fast! so we reduced sail and got her to go 7.5 knts and the a storm front a really ugly one was after us so now we are trying to iout race a storm and we arrived at anchorage just as it hit!
we are now at a marina giving the two ladies a break! my wife and rosie the two loves of my life!
We leave for Key West on the 10th of next month and will be sailing 3 days non stop but to help my wife and Rosie to relax a bit we hired a sailor to go the rest of the way

"WILD RIDE"
05/23/2011, Bae De Assission/Mexico

We left Roatan on the 15th May 2011 bound back to USA.
the winds kept climbing and climbing till they reached 20 to 24 knots in the middle of the noc. "Always at noc!" the Seas were very confused and large waves. and the problem was that out of no where there was a wave that would come along and hit us abeam and BAM the noise was loud and the toe rail was in the water.
The boat was moving at 7.5 knts and I had to slow her dn . I had the main up and a little jib out. So it was really hard to turn to the wind to get the main dn but i tried anyway and then the main only came half way dn and half of the main came off the track! now its 3am and all this noise of the main flapping in the wind and waves hittting us from every direction.
what a mess of a night! finally after 38 hrs in the morning when i could see i got the main dn and tied dn. on boom.
then i told tess iam taking a rest and told her to put 4 degrees into the auto pilot to keep us off the reef.
Some how the 4 degrees were to the port and I awoke to a huge wave hitting us astern almost filling the dingy on the davits! OH my gosh we are now right over the reaf and there are huge waves pounding us from astern !
So I turn to the east and with full throttle ahead we rode up one wave and surfed dn the other side of it and we could look way up in the air and there was another wave over the top of us we thought for sure itr would fill the boat but the boat just rode up the wave so we did this for about 15 minutes and we were off the reef; the depth gauge read only 4 ft at the bottom of each wave! mqn this was quite alarming!
we entered bae de assession mexico and went aground a couple of miles in the bay. which i thought was great were not going any where; so i grabed a cold beer and another and another then fell asleep!
nx morning got a fisherman and another boat to pull us off the grounding for 100 usd; we stayed here for 6 dys for both wife and I were perty traumitized by the day before
