Located almost across the street from the ferry dock (I hope there is not some history about everyone feeling the need to pray before getting on a ferry here), is the town church.

Cajaíba is a village in Baia de Camamu where the main industry is wooden boatbuilding. As the water is very shallow, we chartered this boat and driver to take us to Cajaíba and back.
I'm behind on blogging. The visit to Cajaíba was a couple of weeks ago. I am now in Jacare, near Cabadelo, on the Paraiba River in the state of Paraiba, just a little south of the northeast corner of Brazil.

The one-room school in Campinho. I didn't want to disturb the class, so didn't get close enough to see the children inside.

We anchored off Campinho, Baia de Camamu, for a few days. There is deep water here, near the entrance to the bay. The visits to the town of Camamu and village of Cajaiba (more on this later) were done by hiring small boats.
