Gabriela (who used to live in Paris) seems happy to be back in France. The rocks ahead of Issuma are in the entrance to St Pierre, a small island just south of Newfoundland that is a French territory.
After sailing in thick fog all night, as we made our approach to St Pierre, the fog lifted as the sun rose.

Sailing from Halifax has looked like this a lot...fog, sometimes rain, sometimes wind, occasionally clearing.

Louisbourg was an unplanned stop. The satellite phone (which is used for email) stopped working while offshore because the airtime minutes expired (they quietly expire after a year). I was chasing some parts for the weatherfax receiver and needed email, so we stopped in Louisbourg to use a payphone and internet.
