We stopped in Lipso for one night, another quaint little fishing harbor in the Dodecanese islands. Great shops and restaurants in the narrow lane ways up near the church. We dined at a Manoli's and indulged in the famous Lipso white wine.

Dinner on Marathos

Once again, our wine professor succeeded in selecting the best restaurant on the island. Thanks Erdogan!

After dinner the full harvest moon was rising over the island next to us and the owner dimmed the lights and played Neil Young, Harvest Moon. Very special, a night to remember.

Relaxing on Rialto

It's been very windy for the last four weeks in the Agean with the Meltemi blowing through most days. Now we are in the Dodecanese islands and the wind has settled down. We had one great day of sailing with the new crew, but the next four days we were motoring. Nothing for the crew to do, but relax and look for more dolphins.

Dinner on Agothonisi

After picking up Fisun and Erdogan in Samos we had a wonderful sail down to Agothonisi. A gorgeous little harbour. We sent in our wine professor to scout out the taverna with the best wine (not an easy task). He did not disappoint.

Samos

While waiting for our new crew, Fisun and Erdogan, to arrive in Samos via ferry from Turkey we had a look around the town of Pythagorion, home of Pythagoras. The town is anything but right angle. We walked out of town to the site where the Romans hand chiseled an aqua duct 1.4 kilometers long from a spring in the middle of the island. Now known as the Efpalinus tunnel. The impressive part is that in 550 BC two teams started on each side and after ten years they only missed by less than one metre. Before Pythagoras was even born.

175 nm and 26 hours, our longest passage. We departed Arbatax at 7:20 and arrived in Trapani the next morning and 9:00, about four hours ahead of schedule
