Theft
05/27/2011

Two people broke into the cars here at the marina. They smashed every cars drivers windows looking for money etc. Very little was stolen and the police apprehended the culprits using the marinas new CCTV camera footage. The car that wasn't broken into had an alarm sticker on the window. A wise investment considering my window cost $280 to replace.

Electrics
05/27/2011

Finished rewiring all the electrics on the boat. Wired in the circuit breaker board and battery switcher. Ran off the batteries for 3 weeks using just the windgenerator for charging. Batteries didn't drop below 12.2 volts. The Rutland windgen seems to put out around 14 volts max. All the running lights are back online. Just need to buy some LED spreader lights and fininsh the LED interior lights.

Sea Anchor
04/15/2011, Mandurah

Tested the boats original sea drogue 72nm (140km) west of Port Bouvard last break in 5 metre seas and 18 -20 knot winds. Backed the sails and hove to with a storm jib but found the boat drifts a little too much for my liking. A larger para anchor is needed as the drogue is too small for the boats displacement. I have ordered one from http://www.paraanchors.com.au/ and will rig it so as can be adjusted from the jib winches to keep the bow at 50 degrees to the waves and wind.

I have also refitted the bowsprit railings and navigation lights and have connected the Rutland 916 windvane generator.
