It seems like a lot has happened today so I should have more to write about than I did on yesterday's blog. This morning Rose and I skipped breakfast and decided to go to "Fresh off the Hook" cafe north of us for lunch. We took Salty with us since it was his 6th birthday. It was a great morning for a dinghy ride. The air was cool and the sky was clear. Just as we were getting in the dinghy to return to the boat, Rob called and said he was at the ferry boat landing. We told him we would be there shortly to pick him up, but by the time we arrived, he was already on the Roam-A-Lot. He said that the ferry came over so he just caught a ride back across on it. I then took him and Rose back over so they could hunt for a grocery store, while I went to put gas in the dinghy and get things ready for our trip to Blue Springs. They got back in about a hour so I went over to pick them and the groceries up. It just seems like we are always needing something from the store! After getting the cooler ready, the cameras ready, and the dog ready, we were on our way south for about three miles to Blue Springs. It takes forever to get anywhere on this river with all the "no wake" signs! With all the people there on a Thursday, I would hate to see it on a week-end! We all had a good walk and viewed the spring, but did not go in. I guess we were there about a hour before leaving.
We we got back in the dinghy to leave, and it started looking more and more like rain. About half-way back it started to rain, but we all stayed somewhat dry, with towels and a raincoat. I'm going to make a clear front window for the dinghy soon, so we can keep dry. It seems like we are always getting caught in the rain. After getting back to the boat, we put Salty on board and headed back to the "Fresh off the Hook" to take Rob to dinner. By the time we finished it was around 7:30, so we headed back to the boat. We saw three different alligators swimming across the river on the way back. We have seen more alligators in this area than anywhere we have been so far. We also saw an Osprey catch a fish right by the dinghy, but didn't have a camera handy.
Rose and I have decided that this is as far south we are going in the Roam-A-Lot. We will most likely stay here thru next week and then head back north. We do plan on taking the dinghy up to Sanford tomorrow. I think it's about a 20-25 mile run from here so it should take just over an hour (depending on the no wake signs)! Will have lunch at the Boat Tree Marina right at I-4 and then come back. I guess that's about all for now................
