Repositioning and First Voyage
16 August 2015
Wow! The crew was Capt. Greg, first mate Rob, deck hands Randy, John, & Jacque. We left Ortega Landing Marina on August 16 Sunday morning (high tide) around 10:30. Through misting rain, we maneuvered through the bridges on the Ortega and St. John's Rivers.
We passed the Intercoastal Waterway (ICW) in search of the Atlantic Ocean....we found it! It kicked out butts; with waves 8 to 10 feet. The bow went under and water splashed! We turned around and took the ICW. Did the excitement end there...NO! We ran aground three times but luckily Capt. Greg backed us off them!
We got to Amelia Island Yacht Basin Marina. We were pooped! So we ordered a pizza....the biggest and best pizza ever! Then we all collapsed into sleep world.
