... while anchored in historic Great Peedee River, Georgetown SC we welcomed USGC Inspection Team.
The Crew was polite, professional and efficient while performing their duty.
This was our first 'official' boarding / inspection ever by the USCG.
Thank you USGC for your efforts to keep us boaters safe!

What a shock it's been!
Just eight days ago we sailed through the NW Providence channel of the Bahamas heading for Lake Worth (Palm Beach), Florida.

With a low pressure system on top of us we had an overcast sky and showers but we were still sailing barefoot in shorts, t-shirts and a generous amount of sunscreen. Who knew those days were coming to an end so soon...
Now we're sitting at anchor near Georgetown, South Carolina and it is, by our definition, really, really, COLD. With highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s we are clearly not prepared for this climate change. We do not have enough blankets, warm clothes, or hot cocoa on board for those temperatures!
We will be in the Chesapeake bay for most of the month of May and right now we're wishing for a heat wave.

We woke up this morning to find a new visitor hanging around the boat. We're not sure what he wants exactly but he seems to like the carrots and apples we've been throwing overboard. We can only hope he's a strict vegetarian...

We've had a wonderful time over the last month cruising around the West Indies. We've met up again with boating friends from the other side of the Atlantic, sailed with a friend who visited from New York, and made lots of new friends. Check out our photo collection to see some great pictures of the places we've visited.
We've been in St Marteen for the last few days cleaning up the boat and doing some neglected chores. Yesterday we decided to plan the rest of our season, from now until the beginning of May. We were a little surprised to discover we still have a long way to sail to get to the Chesapeake bay and only 5 weeks to do it!
The month of April will be some long sailing trips with rest stops in between and with some luck we will get a good weather window for our passage to the Chesapeake bay in late April / early May.
We'll keep you posted along the way and look forward to seeing everyone soon!
