It turned out to be that the wood on the counter had absorbed moisture for quite some time and was due for replacement. So some new pieces of board, cutting, fitting, epoxi to make it withstand the potential water penetration and then 'while we're at it' we'll just epoxi some nice mosaic tiles on the counter. The same style as a previous owner once did in the head (toilet). Sooo, these steps, one each day, will keep the 'Chef's' workplace messed up.
