The Voyage of 'S/V Röde Orm' - Sweden
Come on board and take part in our adventures while exploring the world at the slow pace of a sailing boat. We left in June 2009, heading south to escape the northern winter... to start with. Currently in Algarve/Portugal taking it one day at a time.
Ready Orm

She's lying there at her slip now, dressed up in her new clothes. Pulling the docklines, eager to get out there on the endless Blue...

unfortunately there's still more to be done on shore for us, her crew. At least another week, but then...

The Internet Antenna

will be an important piece of equipment once we leave here. With a range of several miles it will provide us with access to WIFI at the various places we will be anchored.

Configured and tested. Hoisted in the mast it will give a real boost to the signals

Eating well

is important. A highlight of the day.

Rebuilding the Galley (kitchen)
06/07/2009, at the dock

Boat projects are a world of there own. We wanted to add a sea water tap beside the sink in the galley. This should have been a quick job if not... you always get surprised when tinkering on a boat. ''

It turned out to be that the wood on the counter had absorbed moisture for quite some time and was due for replacement. So some new pieces of board, cutting, fitting, epoxi to make it withstand the potential water penetration and then 'while we're at it' we'll just epoxi some nice mosaic tiles on the counter. The same style as a previous owner once did in the head (toilet). Sooo, these steps, one each day, will keep the 'Chef's' workplace messed up.

Not everyone is making it...

but this is definetely not the way I wish my boat will ever end up
