The ridge of high pressure up the QLD coast is causing stronger SE winds and the weather is deteriorating outside the reef - bad combination - so its an early 0400 h departure tomorrow to ride the tide and then inside the reef and south as quickly as the old girl and I man can manage safely. Estimate 6-8 days and most likely make landfall at Yorkeys Knob Marina for an overnighter. From there it will be straight through to Townsville and then 2 days break at TCYC.
