So Hi there, So on the 10th of Aug , Guy and I took the dinghy to "town" Still on epi I at Lamen Bay, and spent the day provisioning. We first went to see Isin a friend of Gene,a fellow guy met in Port Vila., We bought some bananas and melon and cabbage and Taro from him, and then went to see Bennington, a local gardener who sold us long green beans and giant "young" cucumbers that looked like melons. Our first contact Eddis then provided us with paw paw, more melon and some potatoe like substance. We then enjoyed Kava with our new friends from the super yacht Black Pearl and the S/V Eagle from New Cal with Frank and Etiene on board. We got a weather report from Frank, which said the wind would be light out of he SE for the next three days. So, we decided to relax and do a few boat jobs on thurs. the 11th. The much hyped Dugong was nowhere to be seen, so we decided to dinghy out to Lamen I where there are supposed to be several more. On friday,we awoke and noted about 0800 that the win was shifting around out of the SW and getting stronger, so I called the weather station on the Sat Phone since our SSb is gone to find that the wind was indeed moving about to SSW and would be 12- 17 k. which would make our current anchorage untenable. So at 1030am we upped anchor and made a hasty retreat to Malakula I where we are in the Maskelynes along with 5 other boats including the Black pearl. Had a lovely tight reach all the way and arrived about 1500 local time . We caught a 5 and a 4 kg Aku ( blue finn Tuna ) for you nonhawaiians on this cute little feather lure I bought in Fiji. So, tonight we're having Teryaki Aku. Eat your hearts out for you non fish snobs. Got to go, Love same same
