Aloha, Today,13 aug, we visited the small 3 family village on Awei Island. We first met Nasso who was wandering about with three cute little girls Tami, Leichel, and Emile who were his nieces home for the long(3 day) weekend. They usually stay on Lombok I with relatives where they attend primary school during the week,Mon. to fri.. Nasso's brother was "cooking"( drying) copra in a shed with this wood stoked fire covered with a long cylindrical steel siding which speeds up the drying process. apparently they have to keep this fire going for a week to dry the copra for export. After that we went snorkeling and saw our first giant Wrasses a school of about 8 ,8-10 kg fish about 5ft long. Huge, naturally I hadn't brought my spear gun. We then went over to our friends Cheryll and Geoff on Sub Zero for happy hour and puu puus. Tomorrow we go to the village of Avok and perhaps even go to church. Have a great day! The Rose
