My oldest daughter (JJ) gave me some small lures because mine are so beat up. I got a nice strike on one but couldn't get ready fast enough between the full cooler, open hatches, pulling in the second line, getting the gaff out and attaching my pole holder to me. By the time I had all that done it got loose. The next night I hooked a beautiful Ahi (yellow fin tuna) on the same lure. This time after an epic battle, got him all the way up to the boat, reached down to grab the leader and the hook ripped out of his mouth. Lulu would be proud though, I did not utter a single cuss word- just thought, oh I'll get the next one. That guy was probably radioactive anyway. That was 2 days ago no strikes since. Go figure?

I added 30 gallons of fuel today took all afternoon. I have been motoring for 2 days now with no wind. Please pray for fair winds out of a good direction for me.. I've used up over 42 gallons diesel since leaving CHichijima. In serious need of some favorable wind. As usual, course and speed are wrong 065 T and 4.5 K motoring.
