Catch and Release

Crew
The winds decreased to 15-18 knots this morning and we are no longer experiencing spray over the bow. we are getting closer to the high pressure system - still 500 miles away. Clear blue skies and no white caps around. Wet towels have been hung out to dry at last.
Perfect conditions for fishing. Rudy set two lines at 1030 hrs and we had our first hit at 1205. A 10 pound MahiMahi was successfully landed (or is that boated?) by Rudy and Rob. We are anticipating one good meal plus some sushi. 40 minutes later we caught another larger one but decided to release it. Terry was on the helm for both catches, We are waiting for the big tuna but there were no other nibbles today!
Listening to the Seafarers Net Roll Call today, there are about 12 boats reporting in the North Pacific. Those ahead of us are reporting light wind conditions.
We enjoyed a great spaghetti dinner today with Rudy's famous sauce recipe. Rob is now practicing his celestial navigation skills by taking some early evening star shots.
All is well!
