I've read about this a thousand times, now we are those people who keep finding things to do before we make the leap. In actual fact, we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Since we have taken the pressure off with an exact date we have settled into a nice pace of getting the list accomplished. The new goal is to move aboard by the end of next week and enjoy Canada day here, once the US holiday is over we will slip away. We thought Oswego and the canal might be crazy busy if we departed following Canada day, so once their festivities have settled that might be the time to leave.

No it's not a dog.
My family gave us this device called Spot at our bon voyage gathering yesterday. Now they can keep daily track of us and know we are safe. This brings much relief to my sister who has never been keen on my departure.
Coal was put down last night as an emergency. Kiley and Sarah left the party early last evening to come home to "hang out" with Coal. When they returned he was vomiting and could not get up on his own and appeared in distress. Sarah called is vet who just happened to answer the phone on a Sunday night, talk about a small miracle. He knows Coal well and said he'd stay there till they arrived. Dr. Toxepius took care of the deed in his usual graceful and caring manner and treated Coal with the dignity he deserved. I had a sleepless night replaying better times with him in my mind over and over and over again. Our morning routine seemed very empty this morning. It will take a little getting used to.
