Buddy Boating through the Holidays
Compass Rose and Chimayo have joined the Sailacious and Persephone Buddy Boating Float Plan, moving through Christmas and New Years as a continual celebration. We moved to the B.V.I. a few days ago and will spend about 10 days here. Last night the eight of us enjoyed a Mexican meal here on our boat in Cane Garden Bay, and this morning the New Years brunch is on Compass Rose. We seriously discussed the famous Foxy's party but decided against being in an overcrowded anchorage with charter boats that do not neccessarily know how to anchor.
Tomorrow we will move to Guana Island for great snorkeling and then slowly continue around Tortolla. The Christmas Winds are blowing 20 knots and causing some swells, but there are many good anchorages to choose from. What a wonderful holiday season we have had.
1-5 Two nights at Marina Cay. I forgot how great the snorkeling is here and will update the favorite snorkeling spots as soon as I finish this blog. Last night was Bob's birthday on Chimayo so we had a pot luck on the beach. Spinach - Sun Dried Tomato Lasagna, Pork Tenderloin with spicy mango chutney, Beef Quesadillas, Tuna Pate and Bok Choy Salad. Does this group know how to party?? Today Persephone and Sailacious will sail down the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Norman Island to spend 3 nights between Peter and Norman Islands. The Indians and The Caves are very popular snorkel spots we will visit but also have a tip from Dave on Daniel Storey to visit Benuires Bay.
1-7 Benuires Bay was a hit! Only a few boats in this large calm bay and GREAT Snorkeling along the east shore. Did plenty of boat maintanence yesterday and now a day off. We are spending my Birthday today in The Bight on Normand Island. The Four Cruizateers will celebrate tonight and then we head back to the U.S.V.I. for a few days before heading to P.R. for West Marine.
