Small Town USA!

Picnics and Parades
The summer has been HOT! Many days in the high 90s and a few in to low 100s. July was the hottest on record! Now we are having a cold streak with temps barely reaching 70. Crazy!
The summer seams to be going by very fast. My Niece got married in July and it was a lovely event. Pops even wore a Tux! Dad's house got a coat of paint on the exterior, poor Steve scraped and sanded for days. Collin, my Grandson, turned 7 and has been so much fun! Friends have invited out on boats and pontoons and we have had an all around good time.
My garden is producing tomatoes and peppers. The fresh herbs are great and I will miss them once back on the boat. Salsa season is just around the corner. Last year we had so many tomatoes that I couldn't use them fast enough and this year we have even more plants. Steve is maintaining the yard and doing a darn good job of it!
Yesterday was the pure water days parade, our small town festival. Every town has one and they are all about the same. Parade, Beer, Food! Last night was the Baby Boomer Reunion and this year it fell on my 40th High School Reunion, it is a great way to have a reunion and I saw many people I have not seen for too many years. I had never attended before and was glad for the opportunity. I still can't figure out how the heck 40 years went by but then everyone said the same thing. It must be all that rum, I hear time flies when your having rum!
