Merry Christmas

Florida
Well, it has been a long time since I have updated this blog. So much has been going on in the last few months. We had flights booked to go back to our boat but have postponed our departure, again. We were originally returning at the end of October and then the end of November. The next date we picked to leave passed by as well. I do believe we will be on our lovely old boat by mid to late February.
My father is 90 years old and has dementia, we have been having problems finding and keeping caregivers since my mother passed away in 2007. It is time for him to make a move and we know this will not be an easy time for him, Steve is wonderful and suggested we stay to help him through the transition. There is a lovely new Veteran's Home opening that is just a few miles away and residents will start moving in February. You can imagine that not everyone in the family is in agreement and the stress has been very high at times. But now that all the hard decisions have been made, we are off to Florida for several weeks. My Folks had wintered in Clermont for years and we have rented a place very near his friends. We will try to make this a perfect last 'Snow Bird' season for him by doing all the activities that he can handle. Dice, cards and golf will be mixed with pot lucks ice cream socials.
While in Florida I will see my Son Bryan's family, I am sure my granddaughters will be so big by now. I get to see my grandson Collin a lot more often with him living in my home town.
February 1 UPDATE:
We are still in Florida and will be for most of this month. Dad is doing well and we are participating in many activities. The nicest thing about being in a Snow Bird park is that everyone thinks I am so young! HA!
