Day 4 Open Door
20 May 2010 | The boat
Rodney
The weather out here is getting very strange. If any one has access to a grib file or weather map of the Atlantic - check out the situation. The Highs and Lows are in some sort of strange dance and moving all over the place. Right now the door is open, but it could close at any moment. Our buddy Herb has cautioned everyone in Bermuda, the BVI's, and St Martin to stay home. People out here listen to Herb - so you know what they are doing? ... turning around. So how does that make us feel.....that every one else is turning around.....lonely. And the advice that Herb gave us last night ....."Head east as fast as you can".....so you know what we doing.
All the fuss is about a tropical depression that is forming south of Bermuda. According to NOAA the depression will hit the Azores in a week or so. Guess when we will arrive in the Azores......you guessed it. The wind has been really great for the last 24 hours - about 15 knots from the south. So we are blasting along at over 8 knots due east and have logged over 155 miles in the last 24 hours.
