Day 7 in Heaven
23 May 2010 | The boat
Rodney
What a great day in the middle of the Atlantic. We woke up to another silky ocean with not a ripple on the sea. What a totally beautiful day with so little and so much to see. We are confined to our little boat on a huge ocean meandering back and forth - yet today we saw whales, dolphins, turtles, and several varieties of jelly fish. If you have ever tried to take pictures of whales and dolphins you know how we felt running back and forth across the trampoline trying to get the perfect picture. Hal was so excited when he got the best shot of the dolphin jumping across the bow! - Easy to say from the only guy on the boat with a film camera - we will have to wait and see.
By the 7th day we all know each other pretty well but somehow Hal seems to come up with another story....and they are all funny. Talk about funny - it is amazing how funny everything seems right now. Hal just wanted to remind me that Elvis was before his time.
Today is a very special day because we crossed our halfway point. As is tradition we all celebrated with a fine chilled bottle of champagne - or at leased a cold bottle. It is all down hill from now on. The fact that we will be motoring for several days does not seem so bad when you consider that boats north and south of us all have head winds. We all thank Herb for picking the perfect path across the Atlantic.
