We're enjoying the resort like atmosphere in Lagos, Portugal. Staying at a marina feels luxurious. There is access to everything we need (except good wi-fi on the boat.) All the things you may take for granted at home - like showers, groceries, cafes, laundry, trains - all within minutes! We took advantage of the trains and escorted Gary to Lisbon for his return trip home. We stayed in the Alfama area - which is the oldest surviving neighborhood in Lisbon (an earthquake in the 1800's wiped everything out.) We visited the oldest castle (Sao Jorge) first built in the 1100's on what must have been the hottest day of the year! We got to experience the cable car ride up to the castle on the extremely steep, windy and narrow road. Reminder - in the big city - BEWARE of pick-pocketers! Gary was almost a victim on our journey to the castle. A sure tell sign is a man carrying a jacket on a sizzling day. He put the jacket over is hand as he reached into Gary's pocket - thankfully Gary felt something and was able to stop him. Now we're back in Lagos living the dream (i.e. doing boat maintenance) and getting ready for Nani and Noelani to visit on the 12th.
